Mµ Connect RTU

Mµ CONNECT IS A COMBINED PUMP CONTROL AND SOFTWARE PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES INTELLIGENT MONITORING AND CONTROL OF PUMPS. Mµ CONNECT IS PRIMARILY DESIGNED FOR PUMP STATIONS AND SMALLER SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANTS, WHERE THE UNIT MEASURES AND LOGS OVERFLOW, MONITORS AND CONTROLS FILTER CLEANING, RAW WATER PUMPS AND BOOSTER PUMPS FOR WATER SUPPLY.

At MJK, we have gathered a large number of advanced functions for energy-optimized pump operation in the Mµ Connect control unit. This includes power saving, data storage and SCADA communication. These are just some of the features that make water management easier than ever.

Mµ Connect has built-in Wi-Fi, which offers versatile communications options. On the control unit, you can, among other things, read data directly from the installation's HMI Display, configure settings with the PC program Connect Link or make minor adjustments via the MJK Connect app for smartphones.

Mµ Connect is primarily used for water and wastewater pumping stations as well as smaller water and wastewater plants.

With the many built-in and dedicated functions for measuring and detecting overflows or optimizing and controlling wastewater networks, Mµ Connect can control pumping stations without other systems.

The advanced energy-optimized pump control can control connected frequency converters, which in turn control the pumps. The controller will try to find the optimum speed for the pumps to achieve the best possible ratio between how much water is being pumped and how much energy is being used.

Mµ Connect also has standard built-in functions, such as logic functions. These are easy for the user to use, i.a. data logging for historical data and communication with SCADA systems via GSM/GPRS networks. Furthermore, Mµ Connect has built-in WI-FI which can be configured via Connect Link, and start/stop levels which can be changed locally via a smartphone.

Mµ Connect is used to control and monitor groundwater, raw water and booster pumps, waterworks and filters. The logical functions of the control unit make - especially - user programming simple. For example, data logging takes care of saving historical developments.

Mµ Connect communicates with many different SCADA solutions, including Monitor Link via standard PLC protocols and ordinary GSM network.

The intelligent and programmable RTU is much more than "just" a pump control.

Mµ Connect can optimize the operation of pumps in fish tanks and basins. This control can be based directly on data from the tanks or basins. Eg. you can monitor and measure level, oxygen content or other important parameters.

A Mµ Connect can control up to four pumps at a time, but this number can be expanded using I/O modules or nConnect intelligent slave devices.

Mµ Connect can control micro screens, and their cleaning process. The communication to and from Mµ Connect is via 4-20 mA, ModBus or GSM/GPRS.

EFFICIENT FLOOD PROTECTION

Mµ Connect is often used to secure infrastructure against flooding. You can carry out service and configuration using Connect Link from the control center or locally with the help of an MJK technician.

SETUP AND MAINTENANCE

Our service technicians often participate in the setup and maintenance of pump control and monitoring units.

The technicians are experienced in working in a safe and efficient way - no matter where the cabinet is located. Configuration and adjustments of parameters can easily be done via an HMI operator panel or by using the built-in USB port.

 


Smart Thinking

MJK has developed a smartphones app that helps manage and monitor a number of important parameters.

Whether it is iPhone or Android, you can connect your smartphone via the built-in Wi-Fi and thereby stop, restart or block startup of pumps. You can also adjust the start/stop levels. Download the free app from App Store or Android Market.

Fast Overview

You can choose the HMI display as an accessory. This provides a perfect overview of the operation of pump stations. The display provides a real-time view of the operating status, and a graphical overview of levels - as well as both active and overdue alarms. From the HMI display, you can also make your own adjustments to the setup.

Set Point Displacement

Over time, the start and stop levels in sewage wells can deposit significant layers of grease and other sewage water particles. This can grow over time, and will in some cases cause problems for the pumps, the pipes or the conditions of the well in general. Therefore, Mµ Connect can continuously vary the start/stop levels, so that no sludge residues and grease are deposited in exposed areas – thus keeping the sides of the well in better condition in the long run.

Depth Pumping

You can expand the capacity of the network by pumping out wastewater before heavy rainfall ends up in the sewer well. A heavy rain shower can produce quantities of rainwater that the pumps cannot handle. By letting the pumps empty the well more than usual, you can, in many cases, prevent overflows. Based on input from e.g. rainAhead, Mµ Connect can start the pumps even if the start level is not reached. Therefore, Mµ Connect will - also in cases like this - be able to control pumps in a more economical way.

The flexible communication options of the various models and modules allow you to communicate in the way you prefer - and of course in the cheapest possible way. At MJK, we currently offer communication via GSM/GPRS, PSTN modem, radio signal, private lines via RS485 and RS232, as well as ethernet.

With the built-in stormflow functions, Mµ Connect can register and measure rainfall - even in the event of heavy rainfall. This data is used extensively to assess the volume of overflow, and any needed expansion of the systems.
