MagFlux® 7200 is used to measure all types of wastewater - from liquids with very high sludge content to outgoing water. In many places, MagFlux® Flow Sensors are therefore used to keep track of the amounts of wastewater moved from urban districts to larger treatment plants - where large DN measurements are often used.
MagFlux® 7200 sensors from DN 50 to DN 400 are delivered with MID certification. Since the total counters cannot be reset, the flow meter can be used for billing and invoicing deliveries to and from customers or between plants.
The hard rubber liner in MagFlux® 7200 is a typical all-round liner that can also be used for more demanding liquids such as wastewater with some amount of chemicals in it. In addition, if there is a risk of flooding of the flow sensor, MagFlux® sensors can be IP68 secured.
MagFlux® is used to measure flow from raw water borings, groundwater wells, waterworks pumps as well as logging and transfer of data for the delivered water. Especially in drinking water networks, MagFlux® 7200 is often used, as this model is WRAS-certified - a drinking water certificate in the UK.
The MagFlux® 7200 series from DN 50-400 is also MID-certified, which means that the flow meter can be used for invoicing. Since MagFlux® has a precision of 0.25% all the way down to a flow speed of 0.2 m/s, data logging will help to establish water loss. The built-in data logger makes this data easily accessible.
Magflux® measures forward and reverse flow on the total counter, where reverse flow is deducted from forward flow. This means that when two waterworks are connected, the total counter can indicate net flow exchanged. The sensor also works submerged with the converter mounted nearby. In this case, the sensor must be IP68 secured.
MagFlux® provides accurate measurements of incoming water for tanks or outgoing water from aquaculture installations. The flowmeter's MID certification also makes it possible to use the total-counters for documentation or invoicing purposes.
On installations where the sensors are installed close to each other, the MagFlux® display can operate and display data from up to four converters and sensors in a local network. The sensor is designed with three electrodes and has 3-point calibration, which ensures an accuracy of +/- 0.25% all the way down at 0.2 m/s in flow speed. Instead of the conventional 4-20ma loop output, the converter can supply a ModBus RS485 signal.
Magflux® flowmeters are supplied with electrodes in resistant materials such as stainless steel, hastelloy, platinum or titanium. This means that virtually all requirements can be met. Since MagFlux® is NIST-certified, and the counters cannot be reset, the flowmeter can be used to document invoicing of deliveries to or from users or between systems.
The Magflux® converter has outputs for both 4-20 mA, ModBus and ProfiBus - depending on the configuration. The converter can be moved up to 50 m from the sensor and the signal from the converter can be carried up to 1000 m to the display. This is very convenient at larger facilities. Furthermore, a Magflux® display can show data from four converters and sensors.
If you need to measure flow in very warm water or wastewater with corrosive chemicals, we recommend MagFlux® 7100 with TPFE lining, which is produced specifically for process water.
